MZX Control panel systems

Hi All,

I have been asked by 2 large clients if we will maintain the fire alarm systems.

The systems on both sites have MZX technology Panels are both addressable MX250 control panel range with MZX technology devices.

I was under the impression that the system is closed protocol I also spoke to a friend who works for ADT he told me the same. The customer called ADT who told them it was 'Open Protocol'

I understand there are many views as to what constitutes an 'open protocol' product.

Any information would be great as to how far I can maintain this system and what I cant do with the system. I believe ADT did give the customer all the code.
