Over the past couple of years we have been having problems on two hospital sites where sounders would go off without any fire signals showing on the panels.
First cause was found to be the HI 485 fault tolerant networks at fault. This proved to be a manufacturing fault which Morley admitted to. They supplied all replacement HI 485 cards and these were fitted back in April this year. A couple of weeks ago the sounders started to go off again without any fire signals on the panels.
Derek from Morley attended site today and highlighted that the fault was the 850 firmware in the panels. The issue he said was that when they were first installed they would behave ok but after a couple of months the faults started re-appearing again.
Solution he has said that to rectify the fault I will have to change all the firmware to 845 as this is known to be ok.
Firmware produced after this version is now made in India
