Morley zx5se double address

Hi looking for some ideas to a ongoing issue. We have extended loop 3 and added 4 smoke heads (xp95) no issues. Then extended loop 4 (there was only 14 devices on this loop) i have added 21 smoke heads so far with a further 7 to be added and 7 sounder bases and 3 mcp. So far the panel is showing double address on device id 39. I have checked all xpert cards all addressed correctly
. Ive checked all zones to ensure i havent manually double addressed. Checked loops connections and values all ok. Swaped out detector and swaped loop cards. Cant figure it out. Cheers in advance.
**Update** have just rechecked values. It dipps down to 3 every 5 - 10 sec. Checked a few of the new heads, doing same!?

Apollo discovery smoke heads

Has anyone had issues with Apollo Disco smoke heads and Kentec syncro panels?

Just commissioned a new loop onto an existing panel with Disco heads (installed by by others). XP95 test set sees all 71 devices (MCPS, disco smokes, integrated sounder bases & beacons) but upon upload, the Kentec reports 9 smokes across the loop as missing. It's not the wiring as the loop is complete and the sounder bases that the detectors are sitting on are also being seen fine. It's always the same 9 devices showing as missing and they are on different parts of the loop.

Any clues?

Orbis false alarms.

Got a site with a bit of a dusty goods in area. Had Series 60's opticals in for years without any issues. Decided that they needed changing due to age, so I fitted Orbis multisensors, thinking false alarm proof.

Have had two false alarms on two different sensors, and on inspection did find dust in the heads. I thought that the Orbis was better at stopping false activations ?

Gent 3408 panel sounder+SD not working

Hi all,

Here i have problem in one area smoke detector +sounder not working, When we put find outstation found that sounder working.but during fire condition it is not working.I try to do the following

1. Set up menu> Modify>put outstation(1-63 device)>sector 1>Signal2 >Enter.
2. Set up> Setup> Sector>Press sector 1> Sounder On.
3. Set up> Assain > Outsation No> Sector 1>Enter.

I did the following but still it is not working, Is there anything extra need to assaign activate this smoke detector sounder.

Details:1. Loop:5, total devices:63,Sounder+ detector address no. 11. Need to activate this sounder if we test all 63 device.

Pls help me in this regard.

3408 Line Return ( L2 ) No voltage

First post on here so here goes.....

I have a 3408 with no votage present @ L2 - is there but no + though, this is at the loop input -output card on this baby

Ive tried the norm like swapping loop cards & so on to prove the point , loop cards are ok ,removed wiring incase of short still same issue

Can this be switched on/off via programming or commands ? I know that we can power both loop in & out off while doing work, just a strange one ive found on a 26 year old system

Ps I am no stranger to the 3408 & yes I love em NOT !

advanced and cross panel zones

I asked advanced tech support this the other day and they put it down to the cross panel zones but I thought this was weird and wondered if anyone had experienced this problem. I'm back next week to investigate

2 panel (mx4800) installed by others to replace a minerva 8 loop and using existing cable, conventional sounders and psu's from the 1992 minerva (nice!). Hence panel 2 has an earth fault not picked up by the previous minerva. Sounding professional so far?
It normally works fine but the other day someone disabled zones 36,37,48. Whilst these zones were disabled someone did a weekly test on an mcp in a different zone (44) to those disabled. The mcp worked fine but the zonal led on the panel didn't illuminate for zone 44 and some sounders didn't work in a different area to the disabled zones. These sounders were not in any of the affected zones (36,37,48). All I could do was re-enable zone 48 as the hot work was finished in this area but still ongoing in zones 36,37.
Zone 48 was duplicated across both panels so I temporarily swapped the devices in zone 48 on panel 1 into the unused zone 66. When this was done it then showed duplicate zones for zone 43 so I think I've opened a huge can of worms which will lead to reprogramming and new zone plans.

My question is what is stopping the sounders working? The cross panel zones or the earth fault? These sounders worked before until someone disabled these zones.
p.s. apollo xp95 equipment and there are no sounders/sounder modules etc in any of the disabled zones 36,37,48..

Would you recommend to link via the relays on the board

Or would you recommend


I/o module on the ziton -> I/o module on the Apollo and then back again

Chubb zonemaster 404

Hi all,
Does anyone have a manual for the 'Chubb' zonemaster 404 4 zone conventional panel? I'm sure it's a chubb rebrand of something like maybe a Kidde? I have pictures but I can't upload them. There are 2 black buttons on the pcb and about 6 x 3 pin links with jumpers on them and I wondered what they all did. There's clearly a lot of programming possibilities with this panel but they're not giving any details away...

weirdness with an appollo switch monitor

Loop in and out wired

20K EOL fitted = no fault lights showing on the unit
no 20k eol fitted = fault light showing on the unit

works fine

BUT

wire 2 of them on the system

morley zx2se

loop 2

devices =

1 x isolating base with heat top
1 x old style non kac call point
2 x switch monitor's

both units go into "alarm" on the monitors

but

the morley goes to fault "low output" x 2

does anyone know what could cause this

kentec syncro yes/no question

Hi again

I went urbexing today (arranged) to a site that was being demolished

There was a pile of electronic junk outside asked my guide what was happening with it

Well long story short, got a syncro

some HP procurve networking stuf and a cisco switch and an old gents grey school bell for £20 beer money for the guys to turn an eye (skip was onsite)

Question is

The syncro has an appollo 4 loop fitted, but software says its a hochiki

I know it can be changed in software (yes I have the software) and I have the lead somewhere, but damn can I find my lead.

Can you change the protocol from the panel (I don't think you can), but can someone confirm

Can I ask what UL approval means

I was just reading Kentec's site and saw

It lists a sigma A as being UL approved but then not for use in the EU

can I ask what the ruling means (in non technical terms please)

Ziton Loop Fault

Hi All,

Just wanting to check my logic here please.

I have a ziton (clymac) ZP3 panel with a single loop, had to disconnect a mcp to move it. When the point (mac type) was disconnected the panel threw a number of dev removed faults.

mcp is now back and fault free but the dev removed faults won't clear. On doing some checking it seems that two isolators have activated and all devices in between these isolators are the missing ones.

The strange thing is that the mcp is on a completely different section of the loop!!

Anyway, on checking the as fitted drawings it would appear that their is another isolator in between the two that have activated (so it's apparently isolated two sections of the loop).

Am I right in thinking that the probable cause of my problems is the isolated in the middle? I am going back to site tomorrow and was going to try removing it from the loop to see if that clears the problem.

Any help appreciated

PS. Has anyone had posts disappear? My User CP says I have made no posts but did a posting in Feb / March time on a Protec panel, can't find it on this site but find it on Google (listed as being on this site) but trying to click it gives some access error??

Gent 32020 constantly beeping

Hi,
I have a question regarding a gent 32020 fire alarm panel. I recently had a call out to a panel that was constantly beeping, I checked all the obvious like sticky buttons, intermittent fault, ribbon connectors but could not find the cause. I powered the whole panel down then powered it back up and it stopped beeping, but started again after about 10 minutes. Could anyone shed some light on what may be the cause of this issue. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi

I went to a school today, with a Morley DXc4, to add a few more devices.

Plugged the laptop in to do a download before I started work, the same laptop I used when I first installed the panel, then all of a sudden. random numbers and letters on the screen.

Tried powering down and up again but no joy.

Panel seems knackered.

Any ideas ???
