Hyfire help

Hi Guys,
We have just taken on a site with a Kentec panel and Hyfire wireless kit which has been installed for a year. Over the past 6 months, one sounder has been giving lots of disconnected faults. The original installers changed the batteries but it's still persisting with this fault which I'm led to believe basically means it's had it?
It's a sounder I have to replace but I was just wondering if the replacement procedure for the base sounders is the same as detectors as per the video on the Hyfire site? Don't need a programmer or anything like that?

Ziton ZP3

Hi all, silly question time.

Been to a site to commission a new section of a loop where all devices and installation have been completed by the builder.

The panel is a 2 loop ZP3 with SW Version 2.09

Would i be right in thinking the ZP720-3p heat detectors are too new for the panel hence showing a continuous unaccepted fault?

If that is the case, what is the minimum SW Version that will support the devices.

Morley Loop Fault

Have a ZXE showing loop faul(poss open circuit)
Loop complete with all devices, continuity ok.
shorted loop out with one side out, all ok except for loop fault.

Anyone know other fault that might cause this.

Have to replace a 2 loop ID200 notifier with a Morley ansd System senser.
Can a download from the ID200 be taken without software being authenticated. Is a dos or windows program. If it can be downloaded it is going to save me a lot of work. Also ifit can be done has anyone the relevent software.

Hi All

Ziton ZP3 system

Is it possible to change a ZP720-2 Analogue Thermal Sensor to a ZP730-2P optical smoke (setting the address to the same) without telling the panel via the Planner Software or keypad entry, as I don't have any access codes for this panel, fitted by others that can't be contacted.

Semi Addressable Fire Alarm Panel?

Hi All,

I'm a DIY enthusiast and I want to install a fire alarm system in my house.

About a year ago I got a load of fire alarm equipment for free, this included:

8 X Apollo addressable multisensor smoke detectors (58000-700)
3 X Sensotec Ressettable Manual Callpoints (FCP2)
2 X Conventional Sounders
1 X Roll of red Standard 2 core fire alarm cable
As you can see I have a mix of conventional and addressable equipment, not ideal I know.

Can anybody advise me of a fire panel to buy that will make best use of the equipment I already have - the house is a large dormer bungalow with a large extension at the back.

polarized, latching relay. for controlling door retainers off sounders

Hello, can anyone help me locate a relay for rigging door retainers up to the sounder circuits?
I need a latching relay, manually resettable, so the retainers wont be energised after the sounder circuit has been silenced.
I know kentec used to make one, but the lady on sales told me they have been discontinued as they cant source the components any more.

I'm trying to source an ems firepoint 5000 mcp.
A client had broken one.
Ems won't supply and want them sent back for repair.
There has got to be a stash of these somewhere?

Esp Fireline/ Menvier

Afternoon all,

I had a call-out this morning to look at a fire alarm system (not one of our contracted sites) and found a 1993 Menvier 2 zone non-addressable control panel (no model number? but the type where you have to turn the key left to silence and then turn the key right to reset if anyone knows the model?) anyway this is running Esp-Fireline (PSD-2) smoke detectors, apparently these had been "upgraded the last couple of years" needless to say the back-ups batts in the panel have never been replaced.. and are the existing batts that went in on the original install back in 1993! Fus

Anyway my question is.. as the client wants the existing fire panel replaced does anyone know or had experience with Esp-fireline devices as in would they be compatible with a Haes Eclipse or C-Tec AFP type non-addressable control panel? or will i have to install one of those crappy looking ESP MAG2 MAGP2 panels? (but in all fairness i've not installed one of these ESP panels so they could be ok?)
(Forgot to mention that the call points are KAC 470 type)

Sterling hyfire interface

I ve got a hyfire system on a advanced panel that has one module that that keeps going in and out of fault.
The device is seen as 2016 with an av of 89 .
It registers as a zmu on the panel , anyone come across this before, to make it worse I cannot find the unit

Good Day!

Could you please help me out with the error (fault) shown in the fire alarm Operating Panel? The 4 outputs are, however, terminated with one resistor each on the branded plc that deals with loops and outputs. Is the plc faulty? Why does the OP show faults? If required I can provide more pictures and explanation!

Hi All
We have been asked to commission a menvier Df6000 panel and was wondering if you still have to get menvier to send one of their engineers to site to do this or can we now buy the software for these panels . Last time I worked on a menvier was a DF4000 and im sure we had to have menvier come to site to commission.

Morley zx5se

Hi guys, looking for abit of guidance / advice on the following....

Attended a call out last Friday, 4 x networked morleys, panel 1 - displaying 47 corrupt / missing / double address faults on loop 1 + an earth fault & open circuit.

Identified P1, removed incoming pair ( realised loop was linked out at this point )& reset. panel saw all devices, re connected loop & reset again - all fine.

I then set about the earth fault, removed all field wiring from panel terminations + main earth, panel still shows earth fault... At this point the building manger informs me that the earth fault has been there for months & has been previously reported.

So I start to fill in call out sheet when I heard the fault buzzer again, this time 26 corrupt / missing / double address faults on loop 3 this time. So I repeated as above & panel healthy.

10 mins after that the same faults re appeared on loop 1.

I initially suspected that I may of had a faulty loop card but when all the faults shifted It threw me off. I didn't have access to a laptop or I would have taken a download and changed the loop cards over.

Anyone think that this earth fault is possibly being caused by the processor board or similar? And if it's playing havoc with the loops?

I appreciate I'm new to the site and won't get any in depth info, but any comments or suggestions would be greatly received as this has been bugging me all weekend.

Also forgot to mention, how can the panel report a open circuit when the loop is linked out?

we have a conventional wired fire alarm system in commercial premises.Is there a device which you can utilise to connect an additional couple of wireless automatic detectors to the existing wired alarm system, and use the existing sounders of the alarm system??

Shutdown of existing panel while installing new panel?

I have a new panel installation (NFS2-3030) at one of the new buildings, whereas this new panel has a 2Px2.5sq mm cable connectivity with the existing panel (live) in other existing building.
Now, while making this connectivity b/w new and existing panel by 2P cable, is it mandatory to shutdown the existing panel and do the connections or it can be done while keeping it live.Huh
Please suggest & refer attachment for more details.

Hi all

Does anyone have a quote about local isolation of the power to the fire alarm panel

a site I help out at (I DO NOT TOUCH THEIR ALARMS) is having a new morley installed. its power is not currently wired in fp.

They have advised they are looking to move the local disconnect switch to the inside of the fire alarm panel or remove it fully.

Can anyone confirm correct BS regs for this.

I do not want the work. Just want to report to the building my concerns if I am right in my thought that this is wrong

I am happy to be told this is ok too

Purlin clips

Just wondering if anyone can recommend any clips for keeping cables in a purlin?

The purlins are all on show so looking for something that's not visible to clip over a cable if anyone's got any suggestions?

Bloody designers are obsessed with this industrial look lately.
